1992 saw a number of significant happenings: on 1 January the Stasi Records Act became law in Germany, Boutros Boutros-Ghali was appointed Secretary-General of the UN, a ceasefire took place in the conflict between Serbia and Croatia, the foreign and financial ministers of the EU's member states signed the Treaty on European Union in Maastricht, more than 50 people lost their lives in the violent Rodney King race riots which broke out in California and continued for six days, over 1,000 young members of the radical right carried out pogroms at the central point of contact for asylum seekers in the Rostock suburb of Lichtenhagen, and two Turkish women and a ten-year-old girl were killed in an arson attack in Moelln.

The Lennerockers Cult Band of Hagen, Germany is celebrating its 30th anniversary

In February 2014, the Lennerockers Rockabilly Cult Band is celebrating the 30th anniversary of its stage debut. In October of last year, a new album was published especially for the anniversary, entitled "Rustin' and Rollin". Most of the numbers originate from the band members themselves, but nevertheless several of the cover songs have made it to a silver disc. Alongside the generally known "Will The Circle Be Unbroken" (traditional), "Rockin' My Life" (Mack Vickery), "Overnight Success" (Hanna, Malo, Miller and Trevino) as well as "Crazy Fuckin' Rocker" (Cavan Grogan) have been newly recorded.

"Behind The Candelabra" receives 11 Emmy Awards

Sunday 22 September 2013 saw the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences present the 65th Primetime Emmy. Steven Soderbergh’s film "Behind the Candelabra" had received 15 nominations for the world’s biggest TV prize, and ended up winning a total of 11 awards during the gala, which was hosted by Neil Patrick Harris.

Their album, “Back On Track” will be released on September 16th in time for their fourth European appearance at the most prestigious event in Europe, Country Night Gstaad in Switzerland, September 20th and 21st, 2013.

The Lennerockers release a new album in celebration of the band's 30th anniversary

When, at the beginning of February 1984, Michael "Ele" Koch, Frank Butgereit, Stefan Koch, Dieter Korth and Michael Schott came together to found the band "The Lennerockers" in Hohenlimburg on the banks of the River Lenne, they had surely never imagined that, 30 years further on, they would still be taking the stage and in the meanwhile be counted among the most popular rockabilly bands of Europe.
