The Lennerockers release a new album in celebration of the band's 30th anniversary

The Lennerockers

When, at the beginning of February 1984, Michael "Ele" Koch, Frank Butgereit, Stefan Koch, Dieter Korth and Michael Schott came together to found the band "The Lennerockers" in Hohenlimburg on the banks of the River Lenne, they had surely never imagined that, 30 years further on, they would still be taking the stage and in the meanwhile be counted among the most popular rockabilly bands of Europe.

The Lennerockers will be celebrating the 30th anniversary of their band in 2014, and, since their last studio album was released in 2006, it was high time for the band to enter a recording studio in its current line up, Michael "Ele" Koch (vocals, banjo), Frank "Butti" Butgereit (guitar, vocals), Stefan "Teddy" Koch (piano, vocals), Dirk "Magic" Mankel (drums) and Chuck Shoker (slap-bass) and record some new songs.

The Lennerockers have recorded 14 songs, nine of which have been composed by the members of the band plus a few cover versions that the band has been playing live on stage for many years and which the fans wished for.

The album is due for release in the fall of 2013, so the fans will have enough time to get themselves in the mood for the anniversary tour of 2014, which is to see The Lennerockers perform at just about all the major festivals and concert venues at which they have performed over the past 30 years, among them the Western Experience in Hertogenbosch (Netherlands), the Wildest Cats in Town Rock'n'Roll Festival in Lowestoft - Pakefield (Great Britain) , the Blue Monday Good Rockin' Tonight in the vicinity of Lyon (France) and, of course, their very own anniversary event on the 15th of February 2014 in the main fire station on Florianstrasse in Hagen-Hohenlimburg.
