The Steff Nevers album "Closest to my Heart" is nominated for the Norwegian Spellemannprisen (the local equivalent to the American Grammy)
Steff Nevers said about his nomination: "It's amazing what happened in the last year. I got my record out and never thought I could sell that many CDs worldwide, I went on tour with my hero Toby Keith and now I am nominated for the prestige’s award. I would like to thank everybody at AGR Televisions Records and everybody at the local Universal Music offices that they believed in my music and put so much effort in to release my album."
The award show wil be held on the 6. March 2010 at the Oslo Spektrum.
The Spellemannprisen award was established on the initiative of IFPI (International Organization for Record Companies) and was first awarded in 1973 for the year 1972 and has been awarded every year since. The prizes are be given out in 17 categories and 4 additional selections (Spellemann of the year, newcomer, hit, and music video).
